Finally our subie finished all the exporting and importing!!!! Yay!!!

We save $3000!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The following are the steps of how to import our subie into B.C.

0-I double checked with Subaru of Canada, and they said the Subaru of America warranty good in Canada

1-call Joe (www.cars101.com)
-tell him what you want
-fax you the detail of wire account information

2-wire him the money:
-which takes 3-4 working days
-try wait for the best exchange rate!!
-you don't need to pay US taxes and fees

3-he fax you the:
-Title Document (copy)
-Sales receipts (copy)
-MSO (copy)
-some information of the U.S. Customs (with maps)

4-fax the following to U.S. Customs:
-Title Document (copy)
-Sales receipts (copy)
-MSO (copy)

5-email U.S. Custom to made sure they got your fax
-after 72 hrs, you can pick the car and do the export/import

6-before go pick up the car you need to:
-get Binder for Owner's Interim Certificate of Insurance from Autoplan
-$77Cad
-this temp permit good for 10days, but it only work from dealer to your home

7-go pick up the car
-at the Dealer, Joe will give you:
-the car (of coz :P)
-Title Document (original)
-Sales receipts (original)
-Recall clearance Letter (original, Dealer version)
-Washington State Trip Permit (good for 3days, $23.50Usd)

8-drive thru U.S. border, they need:
-Title Document (original)
-Sales receipts (original)
-Recall clearance Letter (original, Dealer version)
-it's quick, less than 10mins, couple stamps, that's it

9-Canada border, they need:
-Title Document (original)
-Sales receipts (original)
-Recall clearance Letter (original, Dealer version)
-pay GST (base on that day's exchange rate)
-pay Duty 6.1% (in my case, other model, you might not need to pay, do your homework)
-pay RIV fee $206.70
-pay AC tax $100

-recieve Form1

10-drive your baby home

11-after couple days, call RIV and made sure they recieved Form1
-usually you will recieve Form2 from them in 10 days
-or you can ask them email you the Form2, and you just need to print it

12-call Subaru of America(SOA)
-ask them to mail you the Recall Clearance Letter
-it usually take 10 days

13-once you recieve Form2 and the Recall Clearance Letter(from SOA):
-get the 1day permit from Autoplan
-made appointment for Federal and Provincial Inspection (I recommend CanadianTire)

14-Federal and Provincial Inspection from CanadianTire, they need:
-Form1
-Form2
-Title Document (original)
-Recall Clearance Letter (from SOA)
-$131.54Cad
-no modification need (in my case)

15-After inspection:
-at the same day, drive the car to Autoplan
-they might need to look at the VIN in the car
-pay PST
-register the car ($18)
-get the insurance

16-That's it and enjoy the impreza!!

*PS: This is just for my 2007Impreza, if you are getting other models, please do your homework.
